Formed from numerous New York acts Tony Castles keep on being referred to as 'homies' by some idiotic expat friends of mine. Whether they're homies or not this is pretty good.

I once trecked around Northern California for a week, it nearly killed me, so God knows what would happen if Hit Club set off on a mission to Russia. I think i'd loose my toothbrush somewhere around Minsk, I wouldn't be able to go on after that set back.

Southampton isn't much closer, but at least for March on Moscow he doesn't have to navigate Birmingham. Could just get a train, the Tran-Siberian and get off before you trans Siberia?

The continual stream of young ladies in music is getting boring I just wish that more of them threw themselves under horses rather then learn how to use drum machines. But, Elan Tamara has done something pretty special here, with the help of ever amazing Kwes (tea hut), she's made something genuinely interesting.

The irrepressible and ever magnificent Illegal Tender will help you fill in the gaps better - but the beautiful Oranges comes straight from her forthcoming E.P. which you can buy from Rough Trade.
I know little else about her other then by going from her myspace page we could be taking her on tour in a Spar delivery van, but Oranges comes as a breath of fresh air.

Lurking somewhere along the South coast of Britain is the magical Cabin Fever, possibly one of the last or very very first real artists of the new millennium. We know little about him, but have taken him to our hearts with one of the most engaging and nauseating myspace pages in many a day.

Our friends at the ever-green 50 Bones have passed over the haunting Wandered By; from the Cabin Fever album released sometime in the near future. On another note we better not show him this, Meg White is a robot.

Younger British Artists

One thing many people will be have brought back from Glastonbury this year, alongside the early signs of dissentry, a T-shirt sun tan and a fake moustache from the gay bar, is a new appreciation for a band they either hadn't come across before of hadn't given a chance before.

I had a few breakthroughs of this kind, a particular highlight being my 'not-at-all-chemically-induced' decision that Two Door Cinema Club's set at the BBC Introducing stage will one day be remembered as a moment of similar musical importance to day Kraftwerk learned to ride bikes.

Someone I missed at Glastonbury, because they didn't play, but did give me that similar rush of euphoria when I discovered them a while back were Manchester's lo-fidelity sonic-conquistadors Young British Artists.

The members have recently hand-folded all of the covers of their debut EP 'Small Waves' out on Manchester's wonderful Red Deer imprint now and can be purchased here.

The majesty of creating something so brilliant is the inevitability that it usually doesn't make any sense, much like London's Is Tropical. A crazy mask wearing three piece, mysterious in nearly all details except that the songs are killer.

Hit Club's official laser pen will probably be bought from Argos. No matter how long we use it for the batteries will never run out and it will be used for good only, unlike these crazy yobs. Lasers From Atlantis are actually from London and make 13 minute sonic stews, mixing for good measure a pinch of space rock, noisy post-prog and early yes wave.
